Dear Salvatore

Dear Salvatore,

I see you in front of me: friendly, energetic, uncomplicated and very natural. We are sitting in a bar in Los Angeles. You are having a coke and I am drinking a martini. We have just met. There is music coming from invisible loudspeakers. We are telling jokes and laughing like tenors, louder than the music. Time passes, we keep talking and laughing, then we say goodbye.

This was years ago and today you are gone, forever. I have a void in my heart and a look of disbelief on my face.

But I see you. I see you my dear colleague, more than ever like then, friendly, energetic, uncomplicated, natural.
And your soul is your voice.
And your voice keeps singing to us.

And we listen.
And we listen.
