European recital tour takes Rolando to Spain, Germany, and Milan’s Teatro alla Scala
This November Rolando Villazón embarks on a four-city European recital tour with pianist Gerold Huber, performing French, Spanish, and Italian art songs at Menorca’s Teatro Mahón (Nov. 1), Munich’s Prinzregentheater (Nov. 4), Braunschweig’s Stadthalle (Nov. 8), and Milan’s legendary Teatro alla Scala (Nov. 12). Rolando’s program will include chansons by Henri Duparc and Gabriel Fauré, as well as the entire Siete canciones populares españolas by Manuel de Falla. In the second half of their program, Rolando and Gerold turn to art songs by master Italian opera composers. Highlights include Vincenzo Bellini’s “Vaga luna, che inargenti,” Gaetano Donizetti’s “Il sospiro,” and selections from Giuseppe Verdi’s Sei Romanze.
