Rolando makes role debut in Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria at Champs-Elysées

This month sees Rolando Villazón in his second Monteverdi role debut of the season with a new production of the composer’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.

Having debuted as Orfeo at the beginning of the season in Bremen opposite Magdalena Kozena, Rolando now takes on the title role of Ulisse (Odysseus) opposite Kozena as Penelope. The work, based on Homer’s Odyssey, is seen in Paris in a new staging by Mariame Clément, conducted by Baroque specialist Emmanuelle Haïm.

Performances take place February 28 and March 3, 6, 9, and 13. Click here for more information.
