Rolando stars in Mozart’s Lucio Silla at Salzburg’s Mozartwoche January 24 to February 1
With the New Year in full swing, Rolando Villazón looks forward to Salzburg’s annual Mozartwoche, where he stars in a new production of Mozart’s Lucio Silla, with the esteemed Musiciens du Louvre conducted by Marc Minkowski.
Ever-passionate about Mozart’s music, Rolando portrays the title role of Mozart’s dramma per musica as the Roman dictator, caught in a love triangle that entangles the daughter of his enemy Caius Marius. The festival’s new staging boasts a stellar lineup that includes Olga Peretyatko as Giunia, Marianne Crebassa as Cecilio, Inga Kalna as Lucio Cinna, and Eva Liebau as Celia. Performances take place January 24 & 29 and February 1 at the Haus für Mozart. Get tickets here.
