Rolando Villazón returns to Metropolitan Opera in Eugene Onegin as Lenski
On November 23, Rolando Villazón makes his return to New York’s Metropolitan Opera, starring in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin as the title character’s once friend, Lenski. Alongside Rolando is Peter Mattei, the Byronic title character who pompously rejects the love of the young Tatiana, sung by Marina Poplavskaya. Elena Maximova portrays Tatiana’s sister Olga, and Stefan Kocán is Gremin, the prince who rescues Tatiana from lovelorn despair.
