The Verdi Tour: Celebrating Verdi in 15 cities across Europe
Starting this month, Rolando Villazón kicks off a landmark 15-city tour, celebrating the music of Giuseppe Verdi in concerts across Europe with the Czech National Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Guerassim Voronkov.
The Mexican French tenor’s tour program is an homage to Verdi, featuring arias from such operas as I Lombardi, Oberto, and Macbeth, and selected melodies by the master opera composer. “No other composer creates such an immediate link with the audience,” says Rolando.
Rolando’s Verdi tour begins April 19 in Hamburg, followed by performances in Paris (April 22), Frankfurt (April 25), Geneva (April 29), Aix-en-Provence (May 2), Berlin (May 5), Prague (May 8), Vienna (May 12), London (May 15), Amsterdam (June 12), Stuttgart (June 15), Nuremberg (June 18), Baden-Baden (June 21), Toulouse (June 24), and Barcelona (June 27).
