Beethoven NOW with the Philadelphia Orchestra

This spring, Rolando Villazón joins conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Philadelphia Orchestra for BeethovenNOW, a celebration of Beethoven’s musical genius.

The program begins with Beethoven’s light and joyful first symphony, composed in the spirit of Mozart and Haydn, followed by the world premiere of  composer-in-residence Gabriela Lena Frank’s choral-orchestral work Pachamama Meets an Ode. The program concludes with a triumphant performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, featuring Rolando alongside Angel Blue (soprano), Mihoko Fujimura (mezzo-soprano), and Quinn Kelsey (baritone), and the Westminster Symphonic Choir.

Performances run at Verizon Hall (Philadelphia) on April 2, 4, and 5, and Carnegie Hall (New York City) on April 3.
