Rolando Villazón headlines the closing gala of the Festival der Nationen on October 4. Titled “270 Years of Mozart,” the gala concert is led by conductor Maarten Engeltjes with PRJCT Amsterdam, the acclaimed Baroque orchestra performing on period instruments.

The Guardian has described Villazón’s Mozart interpretations as “warm and passionate,” highlighted by his recordings of La clemenza di Tito and Die Zauberflöte on Deutsche Grammophon.

The all-Mozart program presents a curated pasticcio of overtures, dramatic arias, scenes, and instrumental movements centered on the theme of rulers and lovers across the composer’s operatic canon. Featured works include excerpts from Die Zauberflöte, Idomeneo, La clemenza di Tito, Il re pastore, and Lucio Silla.
