‘Orfeo son io’ with L’Arpeggiata
Rolando Villazón and the ensemble L’Arpeggiata partner for two performances of Orfeo son io on August 18 and 20, a passion project exploring the diversity of Orpheus settings in works ranging from Monteverdi to Gluck that brings the mystical figure of Orfeo vividly to life.
Under the direction of founder Christina Pluhar, L’Arpeggiata is widely regarded as one of the most renowned ensembles in early music. Alongside the group, Rolando Villazón presents a fresh interpretation of the Orpheus myth, using his expressive voice to paint vivid characters that resonate deeply with listeners.
Villazón will also be joined by soprano Céline Scheen for both performances at Muiskfest Bremen and the Rheingau Musik Festival.
