‘Die Zauberflöte’ in Salzburg

This January, Rolando Villazón directs Mozart’s beloved Singspiel, Die Zauberflöte, as part of the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation’s Mozartwoche.  Since 2019, Villazón has been responsible for the renowned Mozartwoche festival as Artistic Director, and in the summer of 2021, he took over the entire Artistic Direction of the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation. Performances will take place at the famous Haus für Mozart. 

Villazón’s new production features a fantastic ensemble cast, let by Roberto González-Monjas. Franz Josef Selig sings Sarastro, with Kathryn Lewek as the Queen of the Night, Magnus Dietrich as Tamino, Emily Pogorelc as Pamina, Theodore Platt as Papageno, and Tamara Ivaniš as Papagena. 

Die Zauberflöte runs January 22–February 1.
