Rolando Villazón’s upcoming fall season sees a variety of performances and stagings across Europe.

On September 11, Rolando and harpist Xavier de Maistre continue their beloved “Serenata Latina” program in Steingaden, presenting traditional folk and art songs from Latin America. Then, Rolando joins violinist Hugues Borsarello and pianist Paul Montag for an evening of Mozart’s chamber music interwoven with letters to his family (Sept 21).  On September 25, Rolando travels to Bad Wörishofen for the Festival der Nationen Gala Concert with soprano Emily Pogorelc and the Philharmonie Baden-Baden.

In October, Rolando makes his anticipated debut as Loge in Das Rheingold, under the baton of Christian Thielemann (Oct 2 & 29) and Thomas Guggeis (Oct 15). at the Staatsoper Berlin. He also joins L’Arpeggiata in Bayreuth for an evening of music by Monteverdi on October 8. To celebrate the reopening of the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Rolando has curated and assembled world-class artists for MOZART+FEST from October 20-22. The festival opens with a staging of Mozart’s “Il re pastore” featuring Rolando as Alessando alongside Emőke Baráth, Georgina Melville, Tamara Ivaniš and Zachary Wilder (Oct 20). The month concludes in Prague with an evening of arias from operas by Massenet, Tchaikovsky, Donizetti and Verdi with Emily Pogorelc and the PKF – Prague Philharmonia (Oct 26).

In November, Rolando visits several cities for recitals and concerts, including Geneva (Nov 6 & 7), Bern (Nov 9), Hannover (Nov 13), Basel (Nov 15), Lucerne (Nov 17), Zurich (Nov 20), Vienna (Nov 28), and Nuremberg (Nov 30). In addition, Rolando’s production of Jean-Phillippe Rameau’s “Platée” opens at the Semperoper Dresden on November 10, with additional performances on November 13, 16 and 21.
