On September 23, Rolando Villazón joins the Janoska Ensemble in concert at the Herbstgold Festival. The program features beloved classics by Mozart, Lehár, and Verdi, newly arranged in the signature Janoska style—blending opera, operetta, and fiery tango for an evening of passion, virtuosity, and joie de vivre.

This performance marks Villazón’s debut at the festival. While celebrated across the world’s leading operatic stages, the tenor’s artistry spans lieder and zarzuela from the Baroque era to the present day. The Janoska Ensemble has earned critical acclaim for its virtuosic, genre-blending improvisations, with Gramophone praising the musicians as “most charismatic performers” whose inventive riffs and cadenzas feel “just right.” Villazón last collaborated with the ensemble in 2024 for the 200th anniversary celebration of Wiener Städtische.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Haydensaal at Schloss Esterházy.
