‘Idomeneo’ in Berlin

On February 28 and March 2, 6, 8, and 14, Rolando Villazón makes his much-anticipated role debut in Idomeneo, Mozart’s dramatic tale of fate and personal sacrifice. For this exciting debut, Villazón returns to Staatsoper Unter den Linden, performing in Sir David McVicar’s production, praised by Bachtrack as “elegant” and “extremely aesthetic.”

Alessandro De Marchi leads an ensemble cast of accomplished Mozarteans. Joining Villazón is Emily D’Angelo as Idamante, Slávka Zámečníková as Ilia, Hanna-Elisabeth Müller as Elettra, and Jonah Hoskins as Arbace.
