‘Il re pastore’ in Salzburg

On April 23, Rolando Villazón returns to the Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum Salzburg, where he is Artistic Director, as Alessandro in Mozart’s charming comedy, Il re pastore. It’s a special role for the tenor; he first appeared in the opera over 30 years ago (his first operatic role)! Since then, he has bowed as Alessandro in Zürich, Budapest, and Salzburg. This time, the opera will be sung as a concert performance. 

Under the baton of Giovanni Guzzo, Villazón joins a cast of accomplished Mozarteans, including Emily Pogorelc as Aminta, Serena Sáenz as Elisa, Tamara Ivanis as Tamiri, and Zachary Wilder as Agenore.
