In recital with Sarah Tysman
On August 23, Rolando Villazón and his regular collaborator, Sarah Tysman, appear in recital at Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen, Denmark. The two will present an expressive and vibrant exploration of the Italian songbook, tracing its evolution from the early masters to the Romanticism of Verdi and Puccini.
The evening opens in the early 18th century with the music of Scarlatti, Durante, and Bononcini, composers whose artistry shaped the foundations of Italy’s legendary vocal tradition, before moving into elegant bel canto songs by Bellini. The latter half of the program features the sweeping passion and emotional depth of Cilea, Tosti, Verdi, and Puccini, finishing with beloved canzoni that still enchant audiences around the globe.
